Churches on the Front Line of Care
Jonathan Sanborn
He likes to say his life has taken him from the suburbs of L.A. to Siberia.
Jonathan Sanborn always knew he was destined to work globally. For more than a decade, he traveled the world, equipping churches to practically serve the poor in their own communities.
But God kept changing what was important to him.
Today, he is the Area Director (Arizona, California, Utah and Hawaii) for CarePortal, a nonprofit that connects children in need to churches and other organizations nearby to fulfill needs defined by a child welfare worker, from diapers to beds. Special software immediately broadcasts specific needs to organizations in a 15-mile radius of the child or family’s home, so those organizations can step up to meet that need in their own neighborhood.
The greatest request right now from CarePortal is for more member churches. In Arizona, for example, there are currently 118 member churches, but they would like to have 300-500.
Tune in to learn how this partnership helps children, their families and their communities.
