Independence for the Blind

Max Ashton

Max Ashton was born with a congenital condition leaving him mostly blind. Despite that, he climbed Mount Kilimanjaro in Africa, swam from Alcatraz to San Francisco, hiked the Grand Canyon rim to rim, and threw out the first pitch at an Arizona Diamondbacks game.

All before turning 20.

Max began receiving services from the Foundation for Blind Children at three months old, and in the years to come became an advocate for the organization, telling the community about the difference it made in his life and others. That made him the perfect person as an adult to serve as communications specialist for the foundation that despite the name serves people of all ages, from having the largest preschool in the country for the blind, to their oldest client, currently 103. Join us to learn about this amazing organization and the amazing young man who is equipped to make this world a better place.
