When Carol Whitworth’s parents formed Sunshine Acres Children’s Home 69 years ago, they probably couldn’t guess that their daughter would run the organization after them. Even more, but that their great-grandson would also head the organization.

The family’s dedication to helping hurting children has flourished. They never turn a child away for financial reasons, and the kids live in homes of 10 each with house parents, and can enjoy activities from choir and music, to a stable full of horses, 4-H, sports, and special outings. More than 2,000 children have been given a home, stability, and love.

Sunshine Acres is more than a home. It’s a family.
